Crystal Tangsrud is a Senior Financial Aid Business Analyst for the North Dakota University System (NDUS), where she supports financial aid operations and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions for 11 institutions within a single systemwide instance. She began her financial aid career in 2004 as a work-study student and has since held roles spanning frontline advising, scholarships administration, veterans’ education benefits, financial aid operations, and enterprise system support.
Crystal has worked in financial aid at institutions in Colorado, Germany, and North Dakota, including the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, the University of Maryland University College Europe, and the University of Colorado Boulder. She brings over 15 years of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions experience as a functional expert and offers a broad system-level perspective shaped by work at four PeopleSoft institutions and a complex multi-institution environment.
In addition to her professional role, Crystal is deeply engaged in the financial aid community at the state, regional, and national levels. She is a NASFAA Certified Financial Aid Administrator® (FAAC). She has held numerous leadership roles within NDASFAA and RMASFAA, including committee chair positions, conference planning leadership, and faculty for RMASFAA Summer Institute. Her contributions have been recognized with honors such as the NDASFAA Rookie of the Year Award and the NDASFAA President’s Award. Crystal is passionate about access to education, professional development, and collaboration that strengthens both systems and the professionals who use them.
