Professional Life
I am the primary Subject Matter Expert for admissions operations across the seven institutions of the University of Maine System. I believe my value comes from being a front-line architect. By staying in the trenches of daily operations, I can identify where a system is failing, engineer the fix, and observe the long-term results. This perspective is what allows me to make sure high-level strategy actually works within the technical realities of our ecosystem. My daily work involves a deep technical focus on the 3C Engine, Communication Generation, File Parser, and PS Query, alongside expert-level management of the Common App for all seven of our campuses.
I am heavily invested in leadership and the development of others. This includes supervising team members and providing strategic guidance to functional staff across our seven campuses to ensure institutional goals are met. Technical systems are only as good as the communication behind them. I really value positive collaboration and enjoy working with IT, functional staff, and students. My approach is rooted in my Bioengineering background; I treat software, data, and human workflows as one integrated system that requires both quantitative modeling and high-trust networking to succeed.
Personal Interests & Growth
I am a lifelong learner and I am currently working toward a Master of Science in Information Systems and a Certificate of Graduate Study in Data Science and Engineering. My graduate work focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and data science. I am interested in how we can use these tools to build more resilient, data-informed admissions environments.
When I am not working or studying, I am usually on YouTube learning something new or watching content for fun. I enjoy deep-dives into everything from cooking and food to racing and new technology. I have always been curious about how things are built and I find that learning about different industries keeps my designer mindset sharp for my work in higher ed. I am also an Eagle Scout; I try to live by the rule of leaving things better than I found them, whether that is a project or a professional relationship.
