Bio

Nate Scherman, IT Project Manager at Kansas State University, has been in the information technology field for nearly 20 years following the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. His technology experience includes desktop support, technology procurement manager, and supervision of network and information security at Park University.  From 2015 -2021, Nate served as the IT Manager overseeing technology services at Kansas State University’s Olathe campus. Currently, serving as an IT Project Manager within the university's Division of Information technology, Nate enjoys the challenge of working through ambiguity while leveraging his ability to form meaningful relationships to understand areas of need and deliver exceptional technology solutions. Nate is adept at remaining calm and clear-headed during potentially stressful situations, using his strengths in adaptability and communication to assess and resolve situations in a timely fashion.  He enjoys the opportunity to satisfy his curiosity through problem solving and process enhancement.  Nate also enjoys playing and coaching volleyball.  He directed the boys’ volleyball program for Mid-America Volleyball club for seven years following his collegiate playing days at Park University. He enjoys helping people develop their talents and bringing people together to achieve a common goal. In 2018, Nate earned a Professional Science Master’s in Applied Science and Technology from K-State. Course work focused on developing team-building and leadership skills, while gaining practical experience in organizational analysis and process improvement.
