Kevin Shalla has been working with student information systems for over 30 years, starting with Information Associates SIS system, migrating to the IA-PLUS systems, then moving to Banner, and finally to PeopleSoft. He has worked for medium and large private and public universities in the Chicago area. His initial experience was from the technical side of the business, doing system management, design and programming across multiple areas, including admissions, financial aid, student records, and billing. He then moved on to the functional areas of admissions, student records, and student financials.
He started his current position as Director of Technology for Campus and Student Life at the University of Chicago in January 2017, where in addition to extensive data analysis and system implementation in Campus Solutions, he designs interfaces with external systems, using automation to reduce work and improve accuracy.
He has attended Alliance since 2017, has presented at MIDHEUG on the University of Chicago's 1098-T implementation. Since 2022 he has been serving on the Student Financials Advisory Group.
